Caroline Bower
Caroline Bower was born and spent her school days in Newcastle on Tyne, and then went to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. She graduated in 1981 and then spent several months on an veterinary field research project in Belize, Central America, before settling down to general practice in the UK. After seven years in mixed practice she and her husband John started their family, which amounts to a girl and twin boys. Since May 1992 she has worked for the Veterinary Hospital Group, within which she runs the Veterinary Health Centre at Plympton, and she is also a veterinary director in the Veterinary Hospital Group.
Over the years she has followed and developed her interest in Companion Animal Behaviour and after achieving a post graduate diploma in this subject she now treats pet behaviour problems both within the practice and on referral from other vets in the South West. Caroline has a particular interest in helping owners to prevent behaviour problems in their pets. Caroline is also interested in the treatment of birds within the practice, in particular caged bird species.
When not working in the practice Caroline is busy with her family, horses, dog, cat and a small flock of sheep. She enjoys swimming, riding, tennis, music, guitar playing, and dreams of having time to read a newspaper over breakfast one day!
